About
I am one of the top 10 piano teachers on Lessons.com. As a graduate of St. Petersburg Conservatory (Russia), and with a PhD in Music from UCSD, I am familiar with both the Russian and American systems of musical education.
I have extensive experience, and enthusiasm for teaching piano. Both children and adults are welcome!
I enjoy teaching and helping students to achieve their goals. For me, love to music and expressive performance are the most important components of musical education. I developed a very rounded and individualized program, including elements of ear training and rhythmic exercises, applied music theory, and knowledge and appreciation of different musical styles. I have inspiring piano recitals of my students, which are devoted to various themes and countries, such as "Music and Nature", "Music and Dance", "Fairy Tales in Music", "Images of Spain and Latin America", or "Contemporary Composers for Children". These concerts nave won many awards from The Music Teachers Association of California.
