About
Kathleen Kranz, NCTM, is President and Artistic Director of the La Jolla Conservatory of Music and a Member of the College of Examiners for the Royal Conservatory. She is a Founding Teacher and LJCM is a founding school of the Music Development Program of RCM. Dr. Kranz is designated a RCM Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced Specialist in Piano and an Intermediate and Advanced Specialist in Music Theory.
La Jolla Conservatory of Music’s charter is to provide an environment for student musicians
to explore chamber and ensemble music, and to perform benefit concerts for the community.
LJCM offers:
Music theory based on Royal Conservatory of Music Development Program (RCMDP, in short MDP) syllabus and examinations, and College Board AP Music Theory
Piano, strings, flute and woodwind lessons
Chamber music and orchestra training based on pre-college music syllabus
Music pedagogy for graduate studies
Community services through benefit concerts
Training in leadership, public speaking and conducting
Concert performance and recording session for soloists preparing for college music supplements
Summer classes for accelerated music theory, chamber music, and exam preparation.
La Jolla Conservatory of Music is also the Founding School of the Royal Conservatory of Music Development Program.
