"If you cannot teach how to fly, teach me how to sing" ~ Peter Pan

Music is my life and has saved me in difficult situations. I left Germany in 2013 a very successful Band to explore different life adventures. I am a professional singer and pianist who teaches in a lovely, patient and fun way. I will share with you my knowledge I have gained during my 25 years of career. No matter if old or young, music is everybody and it’s never too late to dive into a world of joy and inspiration.

Shantaya aka Jenny Boneja has been a professional musician since 1996.  Shantaya studied voice, piano, rhythm and music theory at the Otto- Friedrich University of Bamberg, Germany. In 2009, she began an old-style rhythm and blues project and became the lead singer of Jenny Boneja & the Ballroomshakers which toured throughout Europe. In January 2013 she moved to New Orleans to study yoga and to get the feel for the real New Orleans Music.

In March 2015 Shantaya released her Album “ Healing Mantra Unveil” and is current touring on various yoga Festivals and is teaching workshops.

I am teaching now Music, Voice, Piano and Music Theory for all age groups from my wonderful cottage in Solana Beach and look forward to share the joy of Music with you. We will have a lots of fun, I promise :)

I enjoy everything about teaching music. I like to bring fun and motivation, courage and expression through songwriting, Voice and instrument.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First of all I want to know what the goal of my student is. From there we are working together on their dream. The importance specially as a Singer is to understand that technique has highest priority and that working on a song is the icing on the cake.

My Pianostudents learn to slow down, I appreciate slow and mindful practice and becoming the Master over the fingers.

A practice time for at least 5-10 min daily is a must to see progress!

I welcome all ages and just got certified from Kindermusik University international.

I look forward to hear from you!
