About
Teaching vocal technique is my passion. I love seeing voices develop. I have been teaching for 30+ years now. In this time, I have developed the knowledge, ear, and confidence to tackle almost any vocal issue quickly and effectively. Most of my students see progress at their first lesson.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
At the first lesson, I take a few moments to assess the students voice, to see what it sounds like, how they approach singing, and what they need to sing with a healthy vocal production in their chosen style. Based on this assessment, we may do some vocal exercises to correct any issues, then we work on songs.

Speech Level Singing Certification
B.A. in Music - San Diego State University
A.A. in Music - San Diego Mesa College

How did you get started teaching?
I never intended to be a teacher. I was a performer and student of voice for many years. It was my experience studying with several different teachers and years of frustration from ineffective techniques that I became interested in teaching. I found a technique that made sense, one that yielded results quickly and gave me a much better understanding of the vocal instrument and how to use it. I looked at all the money and years I spent on vocal training with little results and thought, "I can save singers time, money, and frustration with this technique".
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many different types of students of varied ages, levels and styles, beginners and professionals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am currently working with lead vocalist from country band and a hard rock band who are showcasing their original music in Nashville and San Diego.
