Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All lessons will be tailored to your individual skill level and musical interests/goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$60 for a 30 minute lesson (recommended for young beginners)
$75 for a 45 minute lesson (recommended for young intermediate students, and adult beginners)
$90 for a 60 minute lesson (recommended for adults with some experience, and any advanced students)
How did you get started teaching?
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages and from many walks of life.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who sparks the joy of music in you. Learning takes discipline, but it should also be fun!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It's good to consider beforehand how much you can realistically commit to practicing. Remember that frequency is more important than the length of the practice session. Even five minutes a day in the beginning can move you forward leaps and bounds, making your investment in lessons really pay off!
Students need to come with their own instrument. If you have any questions about how/where to obtain one, I'm happy to help.
