About
As a nurse, writer, yoga instructor and Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor, I have a lot of experience in not only teaching but practicing what I teach.
I was very ill and yoga and Ayurveda and meditation saved my life! I teach each person their own yoga. Not the yoga you see on Instagram, but actual yoga taught to me by my guru and friend, Mark Whitwell.
I teach Hatha yoga, but also restorative and Yin Yoga as well as Yoga Nidra (guided meditation through your body) as well as Chakra meditations.
I do a complete intake on our first visit to make certain that I am aware of all of your needs and begin a plan especially designed for your needs.
I love helping people heal. I've been a hospice nurse and writer for 18 years and I couldn't have done any of it without my yoga and guided meditations which helped me to meditate without guidance.
It's nice to have a guide/friend when we first start out and I love that I have been blessed with the best teachers in the world of yoga and Ayurveda. I love sharing what I know and continue to learn.
Aren't we all students of LIFE? :)

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first begin by assessing their individual needs. Their experience, age, constitution, and what they want to get out of yoga, meditation, Ayurveda and overall wellness. As a nurse and a teacher, I want each student to thrive in their lessons and know they have a teacher that is available at any time to answer any questoins they may have.
One goal is to build a daily morning practice (usually a ten minute practice to set up their day in a happy, self-love/self-care ritual way), and then as they progress their morning practice does as well.
As an Ayurveda Wellness Counselor I love to find out their doshas and works specifically for their consitution and help align their bodies in total wellness with other modalities such as guided meditations they can do at home and with me as well as certain breathing techniques (pranayama) that can aide in reducing stress.
Each home class is an hour, but can be lengthened in accordance to what each client wants.
My goal is to have each student thrive and find a happier and healthier version of themselves that has always existed! ☺️
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified nurse.
I have taken two 200hr Teacher Trainings - one at Black Dog Yoga in the Valley and another (even deeper studies) with the acclaimed, Mark Whitwell.
My 300hr Yoga Teacher Training and Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor training was done with Carrie Janell E500RYT and Wellnes Counselor.
I also am trained in working with clients with PTSD. I did my training for that in Sedona in Spring 2017.
I cannot teach what I do not practice and yoga has saved my life in so many ways, as has Ayurveda! I'd love to share all my knowledge with everyone seeking additional wellness in their daily lives.
