Hello All! My name is Alicia Farias and I am a professional violinist/fiddler from Rhode Island. I am classically trained as well as versed in improvisation and a wide variety of genres from Celtic to Jazz to Rock, Blugrass, R&B, etc.. I have been performing and teaching all over the world for over 25 years. Music is my passion!
What I have learned is that every student is unique and therefore the approach taken is going to be a little different for each of you. In general, you will learn the basics like posture, bow grip, hand dexterity, breathing, etc… as well as learning how to read music and developing your ear with different methods including Suzuki, improvisation and in some cases solfège. There will also be times where I learn something from you which helps me become a better teacher!
