About

Multi-talented musician, Kelly Shin is piano performance (M.M.) graduate of Manhattan School of Music, NY. She also holds a double undergraduate degree in piano pedagogy (B.A.) and percussion performance (B.M.) from California State University of Fullerton. Kelly has been teaching piano to students of all age since 2009. She turns every lesson into fun and engaging adventure for her student by fusing her love for teaching and excellent training she had.

Kelly began playing the piano at the age of 5. As her interest in music grew, she soon won awards from several competitions. Couple years after moving to the United States, Kelly won the Robert Turner Piano Concerto Competition and performed Mozart's Piano Concerto No.23 in A Major with Los Angeles Doctors Symphony Orchestra. In 2012, Kelly was named a Yamaha Young Performing Artist winner and performed at the 2012 Music for All Summer Symposium. Recently, Kelly received honorable mention from the 2019 Alexander and Buono International Piano Competition.

As a collaborative musician, Kelly performed as a percussionist and a pianist in school ensembles and orchestras. She also has shared her music giving solo piano performances as part of the university’s Pianist-in-Performance program. She enjoys performing with other musicians as a duo or in a chamber group and continues to give performances with other musicians at benefit concerts, collaboration concerts, and festivals.
