I have been dedicated to performing for corporate and private events and weddings for nearly 20 years.
I lived in Spain during my university years and have been studying flamenco for more than 25 years.
My experience has included performance with flamenco voice, dance and as soloist.
There are no degrees for flamenco. It is something a person must learn through doing it, over and over until the specifics become clear.
It takes persistence and a strong desire to learn the techniques and structure of the song forms.
Only through careful listening, practice and study does an understanding of flamenco arise.
I only teach flamenco and I can teach basic to intermediate classical. I do not teach other styles or electric guitar.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing to address is to learn what the student does know to figure out where to start.
Secondly, it's important to figure out how the student prefers to learn.
The rest falls into place after these basic things are clear.

I have a background in neuroscience and cognitive science that both inform my understanding of learning and memory.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked mostly with adults of all ages.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Consider whether you are ready to put in the time and can focus. To play this style will take time, focus and tenacity.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Are you open to working on technique studies before beng able to play songs?
