Musician Dan

Dan Liu, violist and violinist, Master Degree. Full scholarship and highest scholarship awards from The Boston Conservatory and Peabody Institute of John Hopkins University.

In 2009, Dan participated in the Bundes Jugend Orchester (BJO), which is the best youth symphony orchestra in Germany, and performed in a variety of famous concert hall. In 2010, Dan performed in concerts as an outstanding violist in Shanghai. At the same year, he held his recital with high praise. In 2011, he was award “Outstanding Graduates”, and performed in the Outstanding Graduates Concert. His researches included: String Pedagogy, Webern Twelve-tone Technique, Russian Symphonic Tradition, Bartok Viola Concerto Editions, etc., and held his two recitals in 2012 and 2013. He moved to Los Angeles in early 2014, and started to learn with Donald McInnes. Dan has played in Young Musician Foundation Debut Orchestra and American Youth Symphony since the season in 2014. Dan was invited by Music Director of Pacific Symphony Youth Ensemble to play in the China Tour Performance as the principal violist in 2016. He was also invited to play in a bunch of local symphonies. As an active musician, he has premiered works by many contemporary composers, and recorded a number of video games music, films music, advertisement, TV shows. He has been also performed with a bunch of famous musicians, such as Langlang, “The Newmans", Alan Silvestri, Sarah Chang, YoYo Ma, Nobuko Imai, etc..

I am an active professional Violinist and Violist. I am working and playing in LA area. I teach with full passion and love.
