Lessons With Lissette
About
Hi there! I'm Lissette and I teach violin lessons for beginner and intermediate level students. I've been teaching violin lessons for 10 years and playing for almost 20 years. I strive to have my music lessons be productive but fun!
No matter how difficult the song or exercises may be, learning music should always bring enjoyment as well as discipline. Besides the usual material that comes with music lessons, I'm also very open to hearing what songs the student wants to learn as well.
I'm offering a free 30 minute trial lesson for new students so what are you waiting for?! Let's make some music!

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Most of my experience came from playing classical music with my school orchestras while growing up, along with playing in the orchestra at Mt. San Antonio College for 3 years. After college, I went on to play for more events such as weddings and featuring in an Indie/Folk album titled "Little Bird" by Kelly Grandmaison!

How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching violin lessons out of a music store that I was receiving lessons from in high school because they needed another violin teacher on staff. I continued teaching at this music store while juggling a second job throughout my undergrad years, and I owe so much of my knowledge on how to run a music business to my mentor who took me under his wing at the time.
Once I felt confident in my teaching habits, I left the store after 7 years to pursue my own music business which is now Lessons with Lissette!
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students from all ages and different backgrounds. We've explored music all the way from the classical era to contemporary and modern eras. Every student I come across is a new experience to my teaching ability because not everyone learns the same. Working with a variety of students has helped me come up with many ways to establish a basic knowledge of music, so that anyone can understand it and have fun while learning it.
