Miss Mick's Music (M&M's Music)
About
I am very understanding. Anyone can learn if you have time to practice. Age is never an issue except for the little ones, they do not have the attention span to sit still long enough. I can teach anyone from 10 years of age to 100 years of age. Let's have some fun!
I offer lessons 3 ways:
1. I travel to you
2. You travel to me
3. Virtual lessons
I love teaching music because music is the key to the soul. It goes with our emotions and can be the difference between having a bad day turn good and having a good day turn better. I also enjoy the determination and happiness that comes with understanding that you played something right or that your skill level is better than it used to be. I just enjoy helping people be happy

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Asking them their goals, their availability, their level, and how far they would like to go. I then tell them about what materials they need and we talk about if we will be a good fit!
Our lessons are a contract. My part is to provide the information and training aspect, and the students part is to follow lessons and directions given. The first two lessons are a probation period. I use this to determine if the student listens to instructions; and follows them. I want to make sure that the student is doing their part because they can not learn if they do not try.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BA in Music - piano/vocal
MA in Education
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I started by tutoring classmates while I was in my program at Benedict College. After I obtained my degree, I started teaching to a few of my Mothers coworkers kids. I have been teaching on the side since then.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with junior high school, college, and 3rd grade students in music. As a whole I have taught other subjects to students in 3rd grade through college (so I have essentially worked with every grade).
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that you are looking for a teacher who is gonna not only push you to be better but also who will care about you and doesn't look at you as a means go make money.
I care about all my students and I am big on student success in all aspects of life.
