What I enjoy most about my work is the opportunity to watch students grow in their love of music. I enjoy giving students the tools to become literate musicians and to share their gifts with their family, friends, and the community.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, I evaluate strengths and weaknesses either in technic, reading skills, knowledge of theory and musical terms, memorization skills, and musicality. I tailor a curriculum for each of my students at the beginning of each semester.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played the piano for most of my life and have taught piano for over 20 years. I have a Master of Music degree in Music Composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. I premiered several pieces for solo piano while studying there and paid the bills as a performer and conductor. I am comfortable in all styles having experience performing opera, jazz, sacred music, and all periods of the Western classical tradition.
