About

It's always exciting for me to help my students get to a place in their learning where they can work on the types, and genres, of music that excite them the most! Whether it's music from their favorite video game, anime, k-drama, movie, tv show, or a classical piece they heard, I want to see my students enjoy what they create!

Feel free to check out what some of my other students have done on my Instagram: @TheGeekyPianist

Helping my students understand music, in a way that they can become ultimately successful in learning what is important to them, brings me great joy.

Having taught piano one-on-one for 15 years, my students learn the tools for successful practicing at home, in order to see progress week after week. No matter your age or level, you can start where you are at.

Frequently asked questions

When getting to know a new student, I like to ask if they have any prior exposer to learning music, and possibly ask them to play a little of what they know. It helps me to know what I need to do, in order to get the student learning and growing immediately in their musical endeavors!

I have a Bachelors in Music, and have been teaching piano one-on-one for the last 15 years.

$70 - 1 hour
$55 - 45 minuts (recommended)
$40 - 30 minutes

I have worked with students of all ages, and levels of musical experience.

Understand how commited you are to learning. Being teachable, openminded, and willing to try what the teacher is saying, can make or break progress. Also, you can't be afraid to make mistakes, because learning from our mistakes is where the magic happens!

Students should ask themselves if they have enough time to practice everyday.

Practice makes progress.

If there is not enought time and effort put into learning your instrument, and practicing the instruction that your teacher gave you, then there will be very little to no progress. And that can be frustrating for everyone.
