I'm a teacher with 30 years of experience teaching and performing. I've served on the faculty of Idyllwild Arts for 25 years. My students have mostly been kids that have gone on to study music in college. At the same time I've always maintained a private studio of students both young and adult who pursue a music education for their enrichment.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with an interview lesson for which there is no charge. If the student already has piano training I listen to what the student has prepared, making notes as I assess strengths and weaknesses. As lessons continue I work to provide challenges that will address weaknesses, whether in technique, musical understanding, or musicality. At the same time I try to choose music for students that celebrate their strengths.
