About
I was born to be a yoga teacher. My personal passion is that of self-healing through mind/body/spirit awareness...which I have studied and practiced for over 25 years.
Kundlini Yoga is the yoga of awareness, opening up your intuition and bringing the practitioner to a healthy, calm and peaceful place - through self awareness.....peeling back the layers and allowing us to be our highest, most authentic selves.
Kundalini is so comprehensive and different from other yogas. Rarely would a kriya (yoga set of exercises) be repeated so the chance of getting bored with it is very slim.
Each of the thousands of asanas, mantras and meditations have a healing purpose and quickly the practitioner will notice the shifts in energy and consciousness...and the layers peeling back, exposing the original self.
When we find ourselves repeating unconscious patterns which keep us from achieving our goals, from having loving relationships, from being happy or from being our highest selves, this is the beginning of the awakening / healing process that each of us must go through in life. This process can take many years. Kundalini can speed up this process by bringing awareness to where each student needs healing.
I am an empath and can read peoples' energies and sometimes see past lives and ancestral patterns which need to be healed. This benefits clients by guiding them straight to the root cause for their illnesses and trauma, therefore speeding up the healing process tremendously.
I am passionate about bringing awareness to others, but mostly to guiding them to find their own awareness and to their soul's purpose.
Kundalini Yoga is a yoga for everyone. No matter what level of flexibility or strength, you can practice Kundalini. It is like no other yoga. I highly recommend that everyone try a few classes to see just how quickly you will increase your energy, strength and flexibility and yet feel very relaxed.
I hope you will allow me to serve you and guide you in this valuable practice.

I love helping people to help themselves and Kundalini yoga offers a tool box for any issue that you may have...be it emotional or physical or spiritual. It allows the student to focus the practice to fit your specific needs.
For over 25 years I have studied the mind/body/spirit connection and just how the three are all interconnected...just as we all are connected to each other. Being born an HSP (highly sensitive person) and empath, I feel this connection acutely, which allows me to help others to know where they may need to focus their practice so that they may open up to their true self and to their innate gifts.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with new students one-on-one I like to first get to know the student, do an energy reading and start with the basics of Kundalini Yoga as if teaching a beginner's series. I want students to learn the proper way to do Kundalini so that they get the most benefit from it. From there, generally starting by working the chakras from the root chakra up is a good approach, and from there I customize which classes I teach based on the students individual needs.
For example: if I feel that the student has high anxiety in a particular area of the body, I will work in classes to release anxiety and increase relaxation. If I feel a pain in the student's arm, I may do a heart opening Kriya, or focus the warm-ups on the students's area of pain. (In this case, the arm and/or shoulder), but I follow my intuition and am sometimes guided to do something which seems unrelated but actually relieves the pain.
Students are encouraged to know their body limits and to work at their own levels, taking breaks and relaxation whenever necessary. Kundalini yoga is for healing and balance.

How did you get started teaching?
In 2003, my spine was severely injured and corkscrewed in a car accident where I was rear-ended at a stop. When Doctors could not help fix my spine, my healing process took me to Kundalini yoga. Having been an athlete my entire life, the progress of unwinding my spine was painful at first as I was pushing myself too hard. I needed to be more gentle and to have more patience in my practice (part of my mental and spiritual work).
Because Kundalini releases so many unconscious blocks and childhood patterns and trauma, the healing inspired me to want to share these tremendous benefits with others.
i enrolled in and completed Teacher Training and began teaching a class at my workplace and from there started a class in my neighborhood. I am also a substitute instructor at The Awareness Center, Kundalini Yoga studio in Pasadena.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all types, ages and races. Kundalini is a yoga for everyone!!! If you have limited mobility, disease or handicap, you can still do Kundalini yoga.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of the best healing tools is soundwave. I love to incorporate music or a gentle ocean sound into my classes. Mantra is one of the most healing aspects of Kundalini and I have seen it and felt it work instantly!
i often attend sound baths which can deeply relax you and bring you into a state of higher consciousness.
Recently I organized a sold out event at Integratron, in Landers, where a friend played crystal sound bowls and percussion for 2 hours straight.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you are looking to hire a Kundalini teacher, really follow your intuition to see if the person fits your needs.
Be sure that the teacher is certified by IKYTA and also it is best to find a teacher who has a high level of intuition and integrity. (Integrity comes from integrating what we know is right, into our bodies / feeling. This is what Kundalini yoga does.)
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
i Recommend that students always keep an open mind to new possibilities for it is this openness which is the most healing.
