Katherine Dvoskin At K&M Music School
About
Hello! My name is Katherine Dvoskin and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you as your piano teacher. I have over 25 years of experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. My goal is to nurture a lifelong love and appreciation for music in each of my students.
My teaching style is tailored to the unique needs and interests of every student. For beginners, I focus on developing strong technical foundations in posture, hand position, reading music, and rhythm. We build up finger dexterity through fun exercises and songs. As students advance, we dive deeper into music theory, sight-reading, expression, and repertoire from various musical eras. I encourage students to explore their musical passions.
Performance opportunities are a key part of my curriculum. I host three recitals yearly so students can gain experience and confidence playing for an audience. For those interested in competing, I provide guidance on selecting repertoire and preparing for local and national music competitions.
It brings me immense joy to watch my students progress over the years. I still keep in touch with many of my former students, some of whom have gone on to pursue music degrees or become professional performers. Teaching piano has been my calling for over two decades because I love sharing my music passion.
I look forward to getting to know you and your family. My goal is for piano lessons to be the highlight of your week - a special time for developing musicianship, self-expression, and lifelong skills while having fun making beautiful music together. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. I can't wait to start this musical journey with you!
