About this pro

I have been teaching piano and singing over 20 years. My students have won singing competitions and scholarships. My piano students passing rate of their piano test is 100%.

I am a member of Music Teachers Association of California. I have a Master of Music from San Francisco Conservatory of Music 🎶

My students tend to continue lessons with me for a long period. I am patient and I teach students in all levels and specialized for each student's individual goal.

I like to help people with studying and improving their learning skill.  I met new and wonderful people through teaching. If I did not teach, I would not have an opprtunity to meet them.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I access a new student piano level because I need to pick a song and or piano lesson book to start practicing.

I classify a new student to his or her goal. If s/he wants to perform or attend recital. If s/he wants to take a piano test. Or If s/he wants to learn one specific piano piece.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Master of Music from San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

a member of Music Teachers Association of California.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

1 minute is $1.

30 minutes lessons is $30.

45 minutes $45,

60 minutes $60.

One lesson per week. Some students take two lessons/week.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching my cousins when I was in a high school. Then I started to teach professionally as a tutor when I was a University student.

Then, I taught at Music schools for 20 years.

Now I mainly I teach at my house.

What types of students have you worked with?

Students with a very high levels. Those students who graduated with an honor.

Students with a special needs. I teach private lessons so that I can meet in each student needs.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

My students have received free tickets to Symphony and Opera because of their achievements.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Teachers who are member of MTAC (Music Teachers Association of California) where I am a member is highly recommended. Our members need to be met with certain levels and qualifications. Piano teachers who have more than 10 years of experience are great. A piano teacher who offers very low price and/or group piano lessons are not effective.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Students should ask any questions to teachers. Don't hold back and don't think too much by him/herself.
