  • Charity Goodrich

She has been very consistent, patient, encouraging, personable and punctual. She is easy to talk to and selects pieces that you enjoy playing and if it's not a good fit she'll make adjustments so it's easier to master or it's replace with something else. She is a real pleasure to work with and has great deal of expertise. Another client of Toni's, who also had very positive comments referred us to Toni more than an year ago. It's been a very good experience.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to use the method books, "Piano Adventures".  I emphasize hand position, posture, touch.  I want the students to be excited about their new adventure in learning to play piano.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a degree in Elementary Education with a specialty in music.  Piano has always been a part of my life.  I am a student of piano as well as a teacher and love to learn new things.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Lessons are $18 for a half hour lesson each week.  I allow students to miss lessons occasionally if they are sick or out of town without charging for missed lessons.

How did you get started teaching?

I have 5 children who took lessons all through high school and loved music so much.  As the last ones were leaving home, I wanted to share my love of the piano with others.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked mostly with children, most of them beginning students.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I can't think of one event, but I love it when the student comes to lesson excited because of something they learned that week.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find a teacher that you enjoy working with.  Someone who loves what they do and can motivate you to work hard.
