About

I am a classically trained pianist with a degree in piano performance. I ensure that every student has a strong background in piano theory, sightreading, technique and performance. I hold numerous recitals through the year. Students will be trained with classical music while also incorporating current music that the student can have fun in learning. My goal is to create well-rounded pianists that have a love and appreciation for music.

I enjoy watching a student grow. My greatest satisfaction comes when a student has mastered a difficult piece that they did not think they could complete. One of my proudest moments is holding recitals and seeing the glow of pride from parents faces as they watch their child share music with others onstage. I have taught full-time for over 12 years I have started many students at 5 or 6 years old and now they are in high school and can play Chopin, Beethoven, Debussy and many other composers. Some also have started writing their own music. I am so over paid with this career and I feel so honored to be a part of their musical journey.

    Frequently asked questions

I asses their strengths and weaknesses by examining their technique, past knowledge of piano or music, note reading skills and theory.  If they have had lessons before I look at their previous materials and have them play scales or patterns, pieces that they can remember, and I then I will know exactly what level they are at and go from there. If I am working with a student with no previous music training, I determine what type of learner they are and teach accordingly.

I have studied under exceptional teachers for the past 20+ years and I have a degree in piano performance as well as education. I performed and placed in various festivals and competitions including the Inland Empire Piano Festival, the junior Bach and Bach Festival, and various honors recitals and recitals with the San Bernardino rotary. I am certified under the Certificate of Merit program and under the National Piano Guild. I have also volunteered for 5 summers at a Christian summer camp as a mentor and counselor of children and adults.

I change the standard rate of the area and of the music studio of $100 a month. This gives you one 30 minute lesson once a week for the first 4 weeks of the month.

I offer a discount of 20 percent off if more than one student of the immediate family signs up.

My younger brother had a guitar teacher that came to the house to teach him. He heard me playing piano and offered me a job to work at his studio. Within a month of teaching I gained 20 students and fell in love with the job.

I have worked with children of every age from three to high school. I also have many retired students and students of all adult ages. I have worked with students with autism. I have worked with students that have a difficult time concentrating or have behavioral issues. I have never seen a student that has not progressed no matter what the circumstances.

There are countless events that I have been fond of. One of my students had a difficult time getting up in front of people to perform but he did it anyway with me sitting by him. He performed his piece beautifully and walked off the stage with a huge smile on his face. I have had students that have dealt with difficult issues in their lives and I have been able to work as a outlet for them by using music as a way to channel difficult times.

Meet in person and determine if that teacher fits well with that student. Not all students and teachers have a good connection and that is important for communication and growth. Look for a teacher that has a good balance of a strong disciplined musical background but also partners that with a fun a creative teaching style.
