About this pro

  • We have been teaching for 7 years locally and 14 years in total.

  • Our students stay with us an average of 7 years

  • We offer private piano or drum/percussion lessons in the convenience of your own home. In addition we host yearly recitals and certificate program preparation.

  • Our students span all ages (yes, adults too!)

  • Our teachers provide support and accountability for students so that they get the most benefit out of learning to play!

  • Students have the opportunity to showcase their talent and display their hard work in learning to play with recitals 2 times per year. Unlike any other local recitals, students practice public speaking and presentation by briefly discussing the history of their chosen piece and information about the composer. Leading up to the recital, students will be instructed not just in how to play but also how to PERFORM!

  • We are proud to help students prepare for and excel in the California Music Teacher's Association Certificate of Merit® Program. The program provides a standard of curriculum that requires students to strive for focused musical excellence in performance, technique, ear training, sight reading/singing, and music theory.

Our 12 year old son has been studying piano (mostly classical) under Nina for 6 years and we LOVE her. She teaches the joy of music with warmth and high expectations. Piano practice itself can become boring; she motivates her students by hosting bi-annual recitals and annual certification “testing.” Our son loves the challenge of the annual test which consists of 4 parts: music theory, ear training, recital pieces and sight reading. Nina is a truly fantastic teacher.

Nina is a very patient and kind teacher who has helped my girls develop a love for learning to play piano. She personalizes the lesson to the individual and is able to keep them engaged with the lesson content. She is also very flexible with the schedule which is helpful for parents who are juggling complex extracurricular activity schedules. We love that she comes to our house. It makes lessons very convenient. We highly recommend Nina!

We feel so lucky to have found Nina. She has been a wonderful teacher for my son and we are so happy with his progress in the time that she has been teaching him. She is easy to work with and really sees the potential in the kids. She has the perfect balance of challenging the students, but also being positive and enthusiastic at the same time. He always looks forward to his lessons!
