About
I offer violin and viola lessons throughout the Inland Empire. I have experience working with students of all ages and working with special needs.
I hold both my Bachelor's and Master's in Violin Performance from the University of Redlands and am a current Artist Diploma candidate.
I have over ten years of performance experience and am an active musician and teacher in the Redlands/Riverside areas. I believe students learn best when the instructor adapts to the student's specific needs.
I emphasize music theory comprehension, musical literacy, and musicianship skills such as ear training.
Watching my students grow musically is one of the most satusfying experiences I have had as a teacher. I love working with my students to help them reach their goals and express themselves through music.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For complete beginners the first step is always to get acquainted with the instrument parts and terms that we will use. From there we can jump into playing and reading via plucking. Depending on the student, this will last an average of two lessons before the bow is introduced.
For more advanced students, or any with enough playing experience, I will have them play a scale and/or perform any piece they know. I will place them in appropriate books and teach on a per student basis.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied intenseively throughout the United States and Europe with many great pedagogues and performers such as Sherry Kloss and Sebastian Gurtler of the Hugo Wolf Quartet.
I have been a factuly member for the University of Redlands' String Project for over 6 years. I am a member of the American String Teacher Association (ASTA).
