There always comes a satisfaction of watching students learning various pieces. I not only teach the notes that is on the page, but also encourage the student to explore the aspects of musicality that can be brought out from the music—the things that cannot be notated—and the techniques that are best able to help the student express the music.
I have been teaching piano since 2019, and through my teaching, I try to expose my students to composers whose music they normally would rarely, if ever, listen to otherwise.
All prospective students MUST be able to read music to some extent and have an instrument at home.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first lesson tends to be an evaluation, I look at technique, knowledge, and repertoire experience. I also consider works that are currently being worked on by the student, and will hear and advise accordingly.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been studying classical piano for 20 years. I have recently received my Bachelor of Music from CSU Fullerton, and I will be returning in the Fall for my Masters. Additionally, I have sung in choirs for 10 years, and have played accompaniment for both choirs and instrumental ensembles. I am also a self-taught composer and amateur music historian examining the lives of lesser known composers and publishing short biographies on Instagram.
