Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I take time to get to know each of my students and their parents so I have all the insight I need to provide high quality lessons that fit your student's needs. First, we always have a trial lesson and the cost is just $20 (to help provide for the use of our space). This meeting allows everyone to get a feel for lessons with me and make sure it's the best fit for their family.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music Degree, Piano Performance from the University of Redlands; an Associates Degree in Music, Keyboard Performance from Riverside City College; a professional certificate in Piano Performance from Riverside City College; and about 18 years of experience teaching, performing and studying the art of piano and piano teaching.
I am the pianist for a local choir, the preferred pianist for several wedding venues in Riverside and Orange County, and director of a local music lesson program in Riverside. When I'm not teaching, I love to spend my time pursuing community music education opportunities and building careers of young music professionals.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching private piano students in 2013. Since then, I have tutored college level piano and music theory students, I worked as an aide and ensemble teacher at the University of Redlands Annual Piano Camp, and group classes. I am adjunct faculty and two local music colleges. I currently own a piano studio in Historic Downtown Riverside, CA where I teach private students and group classes for toddlers and infants.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children of all ages, infants and toddlers, college students and moms, all the way up to retirees and grandparents. All ages are welcome!
I believe that no one should be defined by the things that hinder us. Music is medicine and should be available to all!
I am a state-certified respite worker and have years of experience dealing with special needs. I have taught children on multiple areas of the Spectrum. I have also worked with children who have Asperger's Syndrome and ADHD. I also have had students with vision difficulties and degenerate hearing loss and am able to communicate with American Sign Language. I also have experience with epileptic and siezure-proned students. I also accomodate for illnesses and have worked with students (adults and children) as they undergo treatments for cancer. Seriously! All are welcome!
