Arrange a time and place to meet. Exchange mobile numbers.

Introduce myself, my background, the subject and begin with the basics to gauge current ability.


What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

15 years of Tai Chi, Martial Arts and Self Defense practice and over 10 years teaching.

12 year career as an Electrical Engineer and a BS degree.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Charity Lesson, $0 per person per hour.

Group Lesson, $25 per person per hour.

Private Lesson, $50 per person per hour.

Tutoring, $60 per person per hour.

Additional $25 for travel requests.


How did you get started teaching?

"When one teaches, two learn." - Dao De Jing

Once I realized I have something to teach, I began sharing.


What types of students have you worked with?

I have taught people ranging from 10 to 90 years old.

I have had great success working with seniors to help strengthen their balance.

I have even better success helping women feel safe no matter the situation.


Describe a recent event you are fond of.

In 2018, I hosted the Tai Chi Day celebration in La Jolla.

I organized over 10 instructors and their students come out, perform, teach and lead group exercises.

I taught Tai Chi then Self Defense this Saturday and received many compliments about my class. I have a good deal of newbies every week and never one complaint.


What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Real, tested Experience.

Every martial arts instructor should have a taste for each aspect of martial arts practice.

What do you want to get out of this class? What about the next 10 classes? 100?

Martial Arts is a deep pursuit which can absorb you for an entire lifetime. It is not taken lightly and it requires determination and committment.
There are many secrets down this rabbit hole and you should not expect anything to come easy.
