Alethia Espinal Violin Teacher
About
My name is Alethia Espinal; growing up, I was raised in a home full of music. My father, a
Conservatorio Nacional Superior de Música graduate, played piano day and night. From there,
my love for music blossomed. My teaching goals are to teach the appropriate techniques to play
violin successfully and hopefully inspire the same love and appreciation I have for music. In my
experience, I have learned that every student has a different way of learning therefore, it is
important to adjust to every student’s individual learning needs. Learning should be fun, but it
should also be disciplined; it is essential to understand that there is a time for fun and a time to be
serious when learning.
I began learning violin when I was 12 years old in 2006. Over the next 8 years, I have taken
private lessons from Victoria Bietz, Mary Gerard, Alexander Palamidis, and Zaven Melikian. In
2011, I was hired for my first teaching position at the Waldorf School of San Diego.
