About
I have a passion for teaching voice and piano that I am excited to share with my students. During my undergraduate degree studies I spent time not only performing regularly, but also teaching beginning and intermediate voice and piano. I received my BA in Music Education with an emphasis in Choral Conducting where I was thoroughly trained to lead all age groups in learning the building blocks of music theory and creating beautiful harmony. In my time as the soprano section leader at the Presbyterian Church of Los Gatos, and at St. Martin de Porres Church I have helped guide our volunteer singers in learning to sight sing and creating a warm, angelic sound. I have organized groups of my students to perform solo, duets, and group pieces in recitals. At Veksler Academy I was given the privilege of teaching private voice which included brief lessons on music theory, music history, rhythm, and sight singing, while leading a choir in learning to make harmonious music, sight-reading, and musical expression. I finished my second year in the Voice Performance MA music program at San Jose State in spring 2017. During my time there I taught the university’s beginning voice class. I am currently teaching elementary school music.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I work with students I like to get to know their likes, dislikes, interests, aspirations, and musical goals as those are a large part of the role music will play in my students' lives. Once we discover the role music will play, we are able to create a plan that helps us to achieve our musical goals. I personally believe that music should always bring joy, so with every new student I try my best to instill a love and joy for the art.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received myBachelors degree in Music Education from CSUF and my Masters Degree in Voice Performance from SJSU. I have 8 years of experience teaching private piano and private voice lessons. In the past I taught a voice fundamentals class at SJSU and I am currently an elementary school classroom music teacher.
