Georgianna Askoff Music Studio

Georgianna Askoff is the teacher of our family for piano and chant. We are a family of five, with two girls of 8 and 5 and a little boy almost 2 years old, and plan to homeschool the kids starting from next year.

I met Georgianna Askoff at a traditional Latin Mass in a parish where she worked in the role of music coordinator, singing beautifully at the liturgy and directing the children schola.

Soon my wife and I, captured by the beauty, desired that also our daughters be part of the choir.

From the first lesson, I discovered that Georgianna was willing to teach how to sing to all the members of the family.

She has always been encouraging and patient with our struggles (we are all beginners and didnt sing before) and her enthusiasm and love for music and teaching is so big that she would also make stones sing.

We have made steady progress with her lessons and have been able to sing at the liturgy under her direction.

Georgianna is also teaching piano to the whole family and the lessons have been imparted so far through Zoom meetings. As for singing, we are all beginners for piano too. The focus of the teaching is naturally on the girls, but the whole family is learning and I have the role of family mentor/assistant teacher, helping the little ones to understand the instructions and eventually showing what to do on the keyboard.

The girls are having a lot of fun learning and look forward to the next lesson throughout the week, in the meantime, we all exercise daily following Georgianna instructions.

My wife gets a chance to touch the keyboard too when our little boy doesnt need her full attention and we also tried to play together with four hands.

Piano lessons with Georgianna are always a merry time for the whole family and I highly recommend her as teacher.

Georgianna is very accomplished and professional, and a fantastic teacher for all ages. She has taught my children from the ages of 2-12. They all learned a ton and enjoyed the lessons! It was a highlight in their schedule and they would look forward to them each time.

Georgianna is a true gem! Her ability and willingness to adapt teaching strategies to encourage my sons love for the piano and to foster his natural talent as a composer, while structuring part of the lesson to give him classical technique, notation and jazz chords theory, have made all the difference! She is a gifted teacher, thoroughly committed to her craft and has inspired my son to push himself well beyond his comfort zone.

After being out of practice for a few years, I began piano lessons with Georgianna as a lazy teenager. The rest is history. She was instrumental, pun intended, in getting me hyped about music again. I have been a musician most of my life and have never met anyone better at recruiting and retaining the interest of young people. If you put the time in and show that you are serious, she will reciprocate with her own time and enthusiasm ten-fold. Eventually, she introduced me to the world of choral music and the pipe organ, which has become a lifes passion. As I began making music with and for other people, Georgianna provided great mentoring on the soft skills and etiquette involved in being a professional musician. I am among many of her students who, because of her generosity and enthusiasm, have gone from being average players and/or singers to becoming working musicians.

Her competence, genial nature and ability to stimulate ones progress, often through imaginative, out-of-the box, problem-solving.
