About
My students' successes speak for me. All my students are working actors/singers. Longtime student (since he was 12), Austin Scott, starred on Broadway as Alexander Hamilton in "Hamilton", then "Girl from the North Country". He is now booking leads and Guest Star roles on many t.v. and feature film projects, including the beautiful "A Jazzman's Blues" (written/directed by Tyler Perry)! He can currently be seen playing Will Shakespeare on Broadway in "& Juliet". Kristina Ho, who's been my student since she was 7, can now be seen as Series Regular (Betty) on the new Power Rangers Series. My student Emma Berman is the voice of Giulia in Pixar's "Luca" and she now stars in the new "Young Jedi" animated series. My student, Alex Cooper Cohen can now be seen as one of the stars in Disney's "The Slumber Party". My rate is: $150/55 minute private and $85/30 minute private. I myself work regularly in L.A. and Northern California in all aspects of the entertainment industry as not only a performer, but also in Casting and Producing. I love sharing with my students all the elements of all the training I've had in my life (a lot!), and distilling it down to what has worked for me. It seems to be working, as my students are working regularly in all aspects of the industry (Broadway, Off Broadway, National Commercials, Feature Films, Recurrings on TV, VO, Print, etc. ) . Obviously, the successes of my students is incredibly gratifying for me! I'd love to help you pursue your dream.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process for working with a new student varies as greatly as the students. I first assess their comfort level, past training, goals. How I work with my students is totally contingent on their own personal needs. Nothing cookie cutter or branded here. That's why it's called a "Private".
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Studied singing privately (starting with Bel Canto) since I was 14. Graduated from USIU School of Performing Arts (Magna Cum Laude) with a BFA. After that, 20 years of training with countless acting and singing teachers in LA, and continuing study to this day. Training NEVER ends. Just ask any of the successful artists you think are "natural" talents. 😜.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
How did you get started teaching?
Just started teaching privately, and then it grew.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages 6-80, beginners to advanced professionals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My longtime Acting and Singing student, Austin Scott, whom I taught privately for 12 years, is now STARRING ON BROADWAY as Alexander Hamilton in "Hamilton"! Seeing him make his Broadway debut is an unforgettable memory for me! Honestly, whenever one of my students hits it big, whether on screen, on Broadway, or even scoring roles in smaller productions, it's cause for celebration. I'm a working actor myself, and know the thrill personally... not to mention the pain of rejection. I GET IT.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Go with your gut. Look at teachers' bios/resumes. Don't let $ stand in the way. If you need a discount with a teacher you'd like to work with, don't throw away the chance to work with someone great because you think they won't negotiate!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why do you want to study Acting or Singing (or Accent Reduction, Dialects, Voiceover, Public Speaking.... all of which I teach)?
