Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always ask what really EXCITES new students & how I can help them reach their goals. I find that the best results emerge when I allow lessons to evolve organically, so I make sure that all students know they can express which areas of music interest them the most & I do my best to include that in our lesson plan.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
*Specialist Certificate in Home Recording from Berklee College of Music ๐จ๐๐
*1 year internship at Laughing Tiger Studios ๐
*15 Years as a Musician, Producer, Singer, Songwriter & Vocal Coach w/ Legion Beats ๐กโ๏ธ๐ถ
*3 Years studying vocals w/ a professional Voice Coach ๐ค
*12 years studying piano w/ 2 professional Jazz Pianists ๐น๐น
How did you get started teaching?
I’ve always had a strong love for music & have always been a natural teacher. I was asked by a friend if I’d be willing to teach some of his private students so I gave it a try. Soon after, I realized that I not only had a knack for it, but also developed a passion for music education. I wound up becoming the teacher I always wanted & truly love helping my students become the best musicians they can be!
What types of students have you worked with?
Every kind! After many years of coaching, Iโve done literally thousands of sessions w/ hundreds of different clients so Iโve worked the full spectrum. Ranging from young adults, students w/ extreme shyness, teens, children, professionals, classical students, older adults, jazz students, college students, people who LOVE to improvise, people who HATE to improvise, virtuosos & beginners . . . I've worked with them all!
