About
I am a vocal coach, singer/songwriter and music teacher with a Masters of Arts in Teaching. I have developed a unique healing technique with music that inspires students to discover the music within them. I wrote and published a creativity and songwriting book that helps students move through any creative blocks to discover their true creative essence. I have taught in a number of music stores and schools as well as teaching in people's homes. I have been at this teaching gig for the last 12 years. You can learn more about my experience through my website at www.peaceworksworld.org and through my youtube site Music Miracles Around the World.
Creating songs and inspiring others with my passion for music. I love teaching students fun things on the instruments but also going to deeper and discovering a deeper relationship with music. Students will learn the building blocks of music so they can sing and play the songs they love and write songs of their own. I love to share my original songs. One of my accomplishments is a song I wrote with a friend is going to be used in a movie in the Dominican Republic as well as gigging at Santa Barbara Wine Therapy and doing a service gig at Mission Villa Alzeimer's home monthly.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will assess what their goals and needs are and then come up with a musical game plan. I will get a sense of what tools, books and materials will be helpful an then see how it feels to proceed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught with a number of wonderful private instructors such as Adam Levine and Dorian Michaels. I have worked in two music stores and took college courses in theory and singing. I have written and published a book that explores the teaching I have done with thousands of students as well as creatively outlining my own healing method with music and songwriting.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have a basic structure for lesson pricing.
It's $50/half hour, $60 for 45 minutes and $70 per hour. I give discounts for people who sign up for semester courses or bulk lessons. My coaching prices are different, but I discuss those on an individual basis.
How did you get started teaching?
I had one sweet guitar student that I was teaching. Then my guitar teacher at the time asked me if I wanted to teach a children's ukulele class at the music store he was teaching in. The director there liked my teaching so much she asked if I was interested in taking other private students, teaching guitar classes, piano. At the time I was teaching creativity classes for adults so I was invited to come and teach them as a well as songwriting classes at the store. It grew from there.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types, all ages, all abilities. I seem to have the most impact though with those who are shy about their creative gifts but are highly creative. They lack confidence but have an abundance of creativity and deep emotions, often times these are women, but not always, sometimes children and sometimes guys.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have to see it was super exciting playing an original song on the t.v. in the Dominican Republic and then having a filmmaker whose dream was to have his own film school loved the song so much that he wanted to use it in a film about his country. My friend who wrote the Spanish part for and I were invited to his film school to meet the artists of all ages who were putting together this animated film. I was deeply honored that a simple song I had written years ago that encouraged a dialogue of peace was received in such a beautiful way. I also had an amazing songwriting breakthrough experience with a student of mine a few months ago who wrote her first song in honor of her two nephews who were both killed in tragic accidents in the last seven years. Amazing how music can heal us.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Follow your bliss! My profile picture is one of me with my guitar under this sign. Music is my bliss and I have followed it all my life, and it has led me on unimaginable journies both out in the world and into my own creative heart. Work with someone who inspires you, who teaches you in a way that makes you feel confident, special, inspired and able to be proactive in using your own gifts and talents.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is it I most want and what I am I willing to do on a daily basis to meet this goal. One of my recent students is a 65 year old man who wanted to learn the guitar to sing his sweetheart a song at his retirement party. This was a year ago and on October 15, he and I will sing and play this song. He had a goal and he was willing to take the daily steps to accomplish it. What do you really want to do with music and how can I be the guide in the process? I have a process outlined in my book that helps with this.
