Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Students will be greeted outside by a teaching assistant, to be brought inside and welcomed with a small bite or appetizer. Then it's straight to cooking! There are usually two students to a burner, and while recipes will be emailed after class, we encourage students to learn by doing. Each class is concluded with a sit down meal around the dining table.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Chef/owner Ashley Fahr received her master's from La Sorbonne in Food & Food Cultures. During her time in Paris, she worked at the Promenades Gourmandes cooking school, as well as with renowned pastry chef Pierre Herme.
Ashley returned to the states to work at cooking school and catering space Haven's Kitchen in NYC. Following several years working at restaurants, chef Ashley ended up in LA, working for private clients and opening her cooking school and dining space.
