Irena Talyansky Music Instruction
About
30 years of experience in classical piano and vocal instruction, based on solid music theory and music history curriculum. I pay much attention to appreciation and understanding of music and the times the pieces were composed.
I do require regular homework and committment, and follow individually-made progress plan with each and every student.
I am a member of MTAC, NATS and MTNA. I prepare students for CM, ABRSM and other certifications, as well as regular recitals and competitions.
I have a lifelong passion for classical music, and very much enjoy opening up this wonderful world to students, and making them discover their own artistic passion.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It is very individual: I assess the level and if there are any things from their existing basis I would like to enhance specifically.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Please see my LinkedIn profile for education and experience
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard rate is $75/hourly, pro-rated for shorter lessons. I do give discount for multiple students from the same family
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching assistance when I was still in musical school, and have worked with students ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students of all levels and semi-professionals, children and adults.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would say that the most important thing to ask yourself is: am I ready to make a committment to work at learning music? This is a (hopefully) lifelong process.
