About this pro

My service stands out because I am not your normal martial artist. I have studied with the Greats throughout the years. Grandmaster Carlito Lañada, Grand Master Conrad Manaois, Pendekar Paul DeThours, Professor Dan Lee, Richard Bustillo, Danny Inosanto, John Lacoste, and many others. I will teach you how to defend yourself as you understand the how and why. The science of martial movement! From Eskrima, JKD, Wing Chun, Kung fu, Silat, and a host of others. I have 46 yrs experience teaching Women, Men, Children, and handicapped individuals. You learn as fast as you can go. I have taught Police, Highway Patrol, Sheriff, club security, and worked with the IDF from Israel. Are you ready to learn?

I enjoy teaching and seeing people realize their own potential. There is no greater joy the seeing a person understand what you are showing. Thanks

As crime rises in Los Angeles and across the country, being a victim also increases. I was looking for ways to protect myself and my loved ones. Our 2nd amendment keeps being threatened by our government and making it more challenging for hard-working, law-abiding, tax-paying Americans to purchase a gun and ammunition. It's recommended to have the proper training to use and maintain this hardware. The hurdles to getting a license to carry a concealed weapon are complicated. They don't grant it to just anyone. What is the next best thing I can do to protect myself? It's self-defense training. I found David Dangcil. He is incredible, very knowledgeable, with many years of experience in multiple forms of martial arts. He teaches valuable techniques. He's teaching me the tactical methods I will need if I'm ever in a dangerous situation so I don't become a victim. They are techniques to take out an assailant in the most efficient way possible. David is patient with me and goes slow to make sure I understand the movements and how they could be used in multiple ways. I'm more aware of my surroundings. Even though I have a lot to learn, I feel more confident that I now have a fighting chance. It's incredible how this man can be so dangerous with his moments that it's scary. I hope to train with David for as long as possible. I highly recommend David if you're looking for group or private setting training.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Explaining the why and when not just showing the moves

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am very spiritual being an Orthodox Jew.

I first started my training in 1974 in the Philippines under Carlito Lañada in Kuntaw (Marhalika Association). Then in 1976 continuing with Danny Inosanto, Richard Bustillo, and more. I have trained various security teams in night clubs as well as my own place in Mammoth Lakes, CA. I had 40 people on my roster until I moved back to Southern CA.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $30 an hr to start. If you want more like twice a week the price is negotable.

I charge $$50 hr for 2 people

$40hr for 2 kids if you come twice a week

How did you get started teaching?

I started teching officially in 1985 having my 1st class in Mammoth Lakes, CA.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with ages 4-75 yrs old. Although I prefer not to teach younger than 6. I teach women and children as and I have even taught hadicapped individuals as well.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I have many recent events meaning I am fond of my students when I see a concept click in their being and they rise to a higher level of understanding.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Careful who you talk to. Some, not all, will tell you that their style is the best style you can do. The best style is YOUR style and anyone teaching needs to adjust to you, and not the other way around.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Ask them if you have to learn tradition or if you can go at as fast as you can learn?
