About
Why choose me as your vocal coach?
As a top-ten finalist on American Idol Season 9, I had the honor of performing weekly in front of a national audience and appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Today Show, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. But long before that, I spent years studying with some of the best vocal coaches in Los Angeles and Nashville, including Ron Anderson, Roger Love, Liz Lewis, Dorian Holley, and Debra Byrd — teachers to stars like Ariana Grande, Alicia Keys, Rob Thomas, and Ozzy Osbourne.
After Idol, I chose to step out of the spotlight to continue developing my technique. That decision paid off: when Grammy-winning producer Mikal Blue heard the difference in my voice while recording “Terrified” (a song that gained popularity after my Idol performance), he was so impressed that he invited me to become the in-house vocal coach for his young artists in development.
Today, I bring that same experience and passion into every lesson. I focus on helping singers build healthy, sustainable technique — expanding range, improving control, and preventing vocal strain. Singing should feel easy and effortless, and I love helping students discover how freeing it is when proper technique kicks in. Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned performer, I’ll meet you where you are and help you grow.
Lessons with me are not only educational — they’re also joyful, encouraging, and fun. My goal is to help you rely on your voice for life — not just a few years — and to give you tools that protect and empower your sound for the long haul.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every student is different depending on their needs and goals. The first lesson always begins with an online assessment, and it's tailored to each student's specific goals. If the client is in Nashville or Los Angeles (while I am in LA), we can do an in-person consult if desired. *** That said, if you say that you are only willing to do in-person lessons in your submission application and aren't local to Nashville, you would have to be willing to come to Nashville to do your lessons. Otherwise, I am happy to work with you online!
