My Teaching Philosophy

My teaching approach draws as much from the philosophy of the Japanese teacher Shinichi Suzuki as from the traditional Russian violin school, which is what I grew up with.

I believe that my goal as a teacher is to cultivate love for music and for the violin in a child. Each students' learning style is different and as a teacher it is my goal to sense the best way to approach every student as an individual, find what works best for each child, and make the learning process both constructive and fun.

I am confident that through discipline and hard work every student can realize their potential.

I get immense pleasure from seeing my students of any age and level learn and improve. I love to see what music learning does to their lives.
