Rosanna is a wonderful teacher and person. She is highly qualified, patient and attentive to my 9 year old child's needs/abilities. She makes sure her students have a strong technical foundation and many of her students go on to be very successful musicians. When I attended the recital I saw that she has students ranging from preschool age to adult, beginning to advanced- It takes a special kind of talent to be able to teach such a wide range!

We have been going to Rosanna for my son for about 7 years. She's wonderful and patient. I have recommended her to many people, all of whom have had positive experiences with her.

Rosanna is amazing! My 3 years old and 5 years old's sons with full of energy are so happy to sit down to practice piano everyday and can't wait to go to see her to learn new songs! She is a talented, patient and caring piano teacher. She develops children's love of music. I couldn't be happier to find her as my sons' piano teacher!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We start right away on how to read music.  Students will play notes and music from their first lesson! I always like to find out a little more about each student to help them learn their best.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Masters of Music in Piano Performance and have taught for over 20 years at several music schools.  I have also performed in many different cities throughout the world from New York, Praque to Bangkok.  I have worked with children and adults of all ages and enjoy teaching everyone.

How did you get started teaching?

I taught my mom's students as well as taught at a precollege program while I was doing my Masters degree at Rice University.  I also taught class piano while I was doing my Masters degree as well.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with children from 3 years old to senior citizens to their 80's.  I have also taught special needs children, autistic children and blind students as well.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Meet with the teacher and see how you fit with him or her. You can also ask for a trial lesson. Teachers should also have a strong background in music and teaching experience.  Someone patient is a plus.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Go over the teacher's studio policy and what is expected of them as a student.
