About

With a passion for learning and an outstanding ability to communicate with her students, award-winning music instructor Eriko Tsuji always knew her love for the violin would take her places.

A certified teacher through The Royal Conservatory of Music, she has coached several students for music competitions; a few of her students have received gold medals from the Royal Conservatory, placing them in the top three percent in the country.

Eriko has been playing the violin since she was six years old. When she turned 18, she began working with a violin teacher, who particularly inspired her to expand how she approached her mindset to performing. Eriko uses much of what she learned from him in her approach to both work and life. She strongly encourages her students to pursue their Certificate of Merit (CM), which helps them strive for excellence in their field of study.

She has earned several accolades for her performances, including 3rd place with the Gail Newby Concerto Competition in 2013. She was selected to be a finalist with both the Chesapeake Chamber and Coleman Chamber Music Competitions. Eriko was also chosen to join a music residency with the Banff Chamber as Quartet LaMi as part of a scholarship program.

A native of Kyoto, Japan, Eriko came to the United States in 2010 to earn her master’s degree in violin performance from UCLA. She received her bachelor’s degree in violin performance from Doshisha Women’s College of Liberal Arts in Japan. She is currently a member of the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC).

When she’s not busy teaching, Eriko enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and pet dog. She resides in Foothill Ranch, CA.

This is a serious and responsible violin teacher. She has a wealth of teaching experience, and she teaches my daughter patiently and kindly every time. After each class, homework or exercises will be arranged in detail, and then the next class will be carefully commented to students and parents. And she will often share teaching videos and audios in google classroom, so that her students can follow the materials provided by her to learn at any time after class. She is really a very good and professional violin teacher who is very popular with us. We strongly recommend this good teacher to every student who wants to learn to play the violin.
