About
I know how frustrating it can be looking for a teacher who is perfect fit. Briefly, I offer lessons based on over 30 years of teaching experience. I hold 2 Bachelor’s and 2 Master’s Degrees in Music, the 2ndof each coming from the prestigious University of Music and Performing Artsin Vienna, Austria. I have studied with internationally renowned artists and professors, and am currently a professor myself: I teach Piano Performance and Music Theory at MiraCosta College. I have performed professionally in North America, Europe and Sri Lanka.
I am very results-oriented (immediate results mixed with correctlong-term development) and I design each lesson individually to help my students learn at the speed and in the way that suits them best. All ages and all levels of ability are welcome! I have references available if you like.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A trusting rapport between teacher and student is essential for successful lessons. I use the first few lessons to learn as much as I can about other activities and interests the student has, so I can tailor their pieces accordingly. I endeavor to learn as much as possible about their other time commitments so we can come up with an at-home practicing schdule that is reasonable and fun.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While North American Universities offer “doctorate degrees” in the performing arts, Europe does not. The Austrian title, Magister, represents the highest degree available in the performing arts in the European Union.
