What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first lesson is low pressure because most new clients are nervous. We get to know each other a little bit and then I assess what their baseline is so I know how best to help them succeed. For PIANO, we work on rhythm, notes on the piano, finger positions and light music reading. For SINGING, we work on breath support, ear training (matching pitch) and work on a song of the clients choice. I believe learning music should be Fun & also Challenging :)

Bachelor's Degree in Music: Belmont University, Nashville, TN
I've had a successful singing career for 20 years singing for major artists, tv shows and films. Some of my singing credits include: Rod Stewart, American Idol, Get Him To The Greek, Kim Possible, Phineas & Ferb, The Muppets, Stevie Wonder, Dancing With The Stars and more!
I'm a firm believer that everyone learns differently. My goal is to speak to each client in a way that makes sense to them as an indivdual.

What types of students have you worked with?
My youngest client is 6 years old and my oldest client is 70 years old. I teach all ages. My best fit for client/teacher relationship is someone who loves music, is willing to put in the work and have a great time while getting results!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Teachers vary in price by a lot. Look for someone who you think you'll connect with. I would also tell the instructor what your areas of weakness are and ask them how they can help you specifically. If they can't give you any concrete answers, move on! There are many teachers who should not teach.
