About
I am a professional symphony violinist and have also taught private students and elementary school string orchestra since 2002. My specialty is in research into how to help students sound great in the shortest amount of time. I believe in the importance of teaching music theory relevant to the music the student is studying. Students learn how to recognize patterns, understand key signatures, interpret musical structures, and understand harmony —all of which empowers them to make more informed, expressive decisions when they play.
I enjoy seeing students progress and become musicians, but I find that many of my students benefit in other ways. Many become more self reliant and confident. Others become more self directed and organized. I like watching as these life skills help my students become more successful human beings.
