The Band Room
About
Hello! My name is Chris Pollacchi and I've loved and studied music all my life. Born into a musical family, my formal musical education started at age 6 on piano. I studied classical and jazz piano through college, with a special emphasis on traditional and jazz theory. My love for the saxophone started at age 8 when I found a saxophone in my fathers closet. A few Holiday tunes were learned by ear and performed for the family that year, and I've been performing ever since.
I developed my love of the saxophone by studying with some of the top teachers around, including John Doolittle and Dr. Boyd Phelps. I received my Bachelors of Music Degree from California State University Sacramento under the guidance of Dr. Jack Foote.
I've had the privilege of performing on piano, saxophone and clarinet at some of the worlds premier jazz festivals, including the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Festival, the North Seas Jazz Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
