About
I utilize my several decades of training and experience to assess your singing needs, and then works with you to develop a custom-tailored approach to meet your goals. Recognizing there is no one-size-fits-all approach to vocal training, I guide you to learn what is healthy for YOU, so you are well-prepared to meet any demands asked of you — anywhere from the stage, recording studio, zoom room, or bathroom mirror rock concert.
I have performed jazz and classical music extensively, and has taught a myriad of musical styles privately for more than 20 years. I am ready to help you train to achieve your singing goals!

I LOVE helping people become better singers. There is little as thrilling as figuring out what the student needs to improve, and then helping them do so. It is one of the most rewarding problem solving activities I can think of!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Each student is different, so the approach needs to be as unique as they are. That said, each student works on the technique of healthy singing, as well as necessary skills such as sight reading and basic theory in addition to songs, monologues if desired etc. I enjoy meeting a student wherever they are in their development - be it brand new and need to learn how to match pitch, or a seasoned pro wanting to step up their skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold two Masters degrees as well as two Bachelors degrees. I have taught privately for decades, as well as been a performer for decades. Prior to COVID, I was an active performer.
What types of students have you worked with?
Broadway Performers, Recording Artists, Opera Singers, High School Students, H.S. Choir Directors, Hobbyists, You Tube Artists, College Students, Collegiate Professors, Pro Choristers, Worship Leaders, Music Therapists, Film Directors, Professional Actors, Professional Dancers, Ms. America Top 7
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Finding a teacher. It is really more about what they can do for your skills, than necessarily what they have done themselves as performers. I believe it is important to find someone to whom the development of healthy technique for you - and thereby protecting your voice for ALL of your life is vitally important. With technique, we also must learn to still deliver a captivating performance for the audience. Learning to blend the technique seamlessly with the ability to deliver a passionate performance. Find someone who can help you find you, and not make you a carbon copy of someone else.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I think it is ok if a student begins lessons simply with the desire to become better. Questions will come up as the student learns more about singing.
