About
It is my goal as a teacher to "decode" each individual student's personal learning style. I strive to create a fun and safe learning environment and to instill the values of lifelong learning and improvement in my students. I have maintained a private violin and viola studio for approximately ten years. I am currently building my studio in Boulder, Colorado and recently maintained a large studio of beginning, intermediate and advanced students from ages 4 to adult in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
I am currently a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Violin Performance at the University of Colorado Boulder, where I serve as Graduate Teaching Assistant to Professor Harumi Rhodes. I also hold Master of Music and Artist Diploma degrees from Western Michigan University, where I served as graduate teaching assistant to Professor Renata Artman Knific, as well as a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from the University of Iowa under the tutelage of Dr. Scott Conklin. I have held positions with the Kalamazoo, Southwest Michigan, and Holland symphony orchestras. Recent special engagements have included the world premiere of Lotus Petals with Emmy award-winning Vietnamese artist Van-Anh Vanessa Vo as a part of the Bullock Performance Institute series and Rod Stewart’s Midwestern Tour.
