About
Teaching students for twenty years, I accept age 6 through adult, levels beginning-advanced at my home studio or online using my Yamaha upright acoustic piano and 6'4" Steinway. I graduated Cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Performance from MSU-Denver in 2013. Students are all unique, so I tailor each lesson to each student. I offer 1-2 in-person free student recitals per year at a recital venue. Some flexibility in scheduling is available. It's wonderful to see students learn and make progress at their own pace.
I love playing and teaching. It's wonderful to show students how technique, looking at patterns in different ways and special exercises specific to a piece can help them learn a piece that they didn't think they could play.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It's very important to learn what a student's goal, or goals might be, then work with and build upon what a student already knows. The first thing I do, depending on the level, is to get to know as much as possible about the student through observation, questions and discussion. That way I can start to design a path of learning for that student to follow.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated Cum laude in 2013 with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. I've participated in competitions and master classes, attended adult piano music camp accompanied choirs, attended as well as performed in masterclasses, and performed at various events. An active member of Aurora Music Teachers Association, in the holding offices such as 3rd VP, President, Chair of Premier Performances and co-Chair of Four Forms Festival . I've judged 3 different events in the past. I take ongoing piano lessons on occasion. I've worked at 3 different churches as an accompanist, and praise team band member. I consistently attend piano recitals, chamber music events and orchestra concerts. I also study books, and read professional publications in my field.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
All lessons in a month are due at the first lesson of the month. Lesson rates are as follows: $27 for one 30-minute lesson per week; $40.50 for one 45-minute lesson per week; and $54 for one 60-minute lesson per week.
How did you get started teaching?
When my children were first taking piano lessons from another teacher, they seemed frustrated, so I decided to start teaching them. They told their friends about me, so, with increasing interest and encouragement, I decided to make it my profession.
What types of students have you worked with?
Classical piano students levels Beginner-Advanced, ages 6 through adult is my current policy.
