About
My love and passion as a musician, singer and actor, started at a very young age when I participated in various children's and Teen (& later as an adult), musicals and dramatic plays at church and in school. I also had great training and performances in Light Opera stage productions.
My love and passion for teaching violin has grown and matured since 1994. And the program I offer in the private sector disinctly differs from what most private studios offer.
In 2004 I started creating my own curriculum for teen and adult learners. The wide age range I teach is 9 years old up through adult. My oldest pupil was 81 years of age. And I teach all proficiency levels (Beg.-Inter.-Adv.)
Also in 2004, I started developing group lessons with my private students. But, in 2017 this group lesson idea took on a whole new identity and is now developing into a unique violin choir and ensemble.
Moreover, I offer an intensive one week violin camp; open to any violin students in the Colorado Springs area during the summer.
Since 2017, (totally separate from violin lessons), I have also been developing, in the private sector, a unique Performing Arts Class, taught from a Biblical perspective. This class is for Teens and Adults, and will cover some basic elements of music history, theory, appreciation, and theater. Students will develope skills in creativly writing, developing and producing their own productions in their churches and/or schools as a means of outreach to their communities.
Education & Experience:
In 2007, I earned my B.A. degree in Pastoral: Music Ministries; which includes the elements of performance, education and leadership, all in one. And I have served in the ministry since 1997, in various music and pastoral roles, including Worship Leader and adult Choir Directer.
I have been a guest instructor and performer for various Music Appreciation classes in a Charter school; and for the Nazarene Bible College (where I graduated from). And for one school year (2015-16), I taught Middle and Highschool level Choirs, Musical Theatre and Music Appreciation classes. This was for a small local Christian school, but only until they switched over to the STEM academic program.
One of my Musical Theatre students was nominated and received the prestigious "Presidential Award" specifically for her amazing transformation, growth and performance in my Musical Theatre class. This was the first time in the history of this school that the Presidential Award was given to a Musical Theatre student.
In 2017-18, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that 2 of my private violin students had also been awarded the Presidential Award in Math and Science.
Currently, I am enrolled in a Master's Degree program with the goal of becoming a college educator.
WHAT STUDENTS CAN EXPECT:
I offer a rigorous private and group violin rogram. And though I don't guarenty every one of my students will be nominated for the Presidential Award in their schools; nor do I promise all of them will succeed at playing the violin well (for that is up to them). But I will say that the more students learn the discipline of practice, the more they will develope an ear, a love and appreciation for music. The mental and physical disciplines of music making will go with students well into their adult years. Good Music education grows and equips students into becoming decent and responsible human beings.
I enjoy the interaction with my students and the look of joy on their faces at a job well done. And nothing gives me more joy than to encourage my students in their musical and life journeys.
As a Violinist, I enjoy touching the hearts and minds of my audiences. There is such a Divine power within music that moves the observant listener in such a way that goes well beyond any musical ability. Bringing any audience into the presence of the Almighty is my greatest joy and responsibility. And that alone is the greatest satisfaction of this musician.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach out of the downtown Meeker Music Store Studios on N. Tejon, in Colorado Springs.
After our initial contact, I ask potential students (or parents) for their email so I can send them all of the information they need to make their decision (Policies & Procedures; Group Lesson info; Tuition, Scheduling and Location). Due to the amount of information, I do not answer specific questions that require lengthy explainations in text or over the phone. Emailing these documents is far more effective. Once they receive and accept this information, and after they choose which lesson time frame per week to sign up for, we then scedule our first lesson.
Our first lesson together is a time of getting to know eachother. And I gage where the student is with their proficiancy and determine where and how to start with them. Potential students may contact me at, [email protected].
