About
Hello students and guardians!
I have been teaching singing and acting for 8 years, and there's nothing better than the great "aha" moment my students get when a skill or method clicks with them.
I'm a tough (but kind) teacher. I know good talent when I see it, and I push my students out of their comfort zones in order for them to have every chance at winning in this cut throat industry.

Come to each lesson with a weekly goal, repertoire, audition material, and anything else you'd like to work on.
I am extremely passionate about pulling talent where I see it. Good talent is hard to come by, but EVERYONE has the potential to have it. I don't believe it when people tell me "I can't sing." Everyone can sing, play an instrument, or act, it's just a matter of having the guidance and tenacity to do it!
Not only will I teach you fundamentals, I will tailor the lessons to your abilities and what YOU need.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin with an evaluation to check vocal range, music theory knowledge, and past performance experiences. We'll talk about three things the student wants to learn in lessons, and from there we will pick out in-class repertoire and weekly assignments.
I always tell my students music is 40% skill and 60% guts, which is absolutely true. Not only will we focus on technique and repertoire, but we will also focus on mindset. This industry is no joke. I've been in it for 3 years. What I've learned is, by focusing on what's in our control and in our hands, we can find the right balance between skill and guts, which will lead to great success.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been a singer, musician, and actor for 20 years, with a BA in Pro Music (Music in special education, Drama, Dramatic Writing) and a minor in Philosophy. From there, I went on to perform in legendary venues such as Birdland Jazz Club, Dizzy's Cola Club, Carnegie Hall, and all around the globe.
I've studied under legendary mentors such as Paula Cole, David Yaffe (New York Times Best Seller), and Victor Wooten. I also received formal training in flute since the age of 5.

What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students between 5 years and 70. Whether you're pursuing the arts as a career or just want to learn something new, each lesson is tailored to the needs of my students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who will push you and EDUCATE you. It's one thing to teach a skill, but if you don't understand the industry you're going into and how to navigate it, you'll struggle. Find a teacher who will push you out of your comfort zone to learn difficult techniques, and someone who will be your mentor.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about what you want to accomplish! Do you want to be able to sing certain songs? Do you have a big audition or class final you need to prep for? Come with basic goals and projects, but also be open minded to what will benefit you in the long run!
