Stage Native Voice Studio
About
I specialize in working with students who are seeking (or already have) opportunities to play music in live settings, such as open mics or gigs with a live band. Many of my students play other instruments in a band and find themselves singing lead or back up vocals. I work with these students on learning to use healthy vocal techniques to preserve their voices in loud settings, how to project correctly with or without a microphone, how to communicate with sound engineers and other professionals in the music industry. I apply my extensive classical and jazz voice training and years of performance experience in a wide variety of settings to help students understand their diaphragm, expand their range, gain control over their vocal quality, enhance their stage presence, and more.
I absolutely love spending my time with people who are equally passionate about music! As musicians, we have a special and unique opportunity to bring different people together through song, and to translate the world around us into a universal language that transcends barriers.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students complete a questionnaire that lets me know your music interests, goals, and experience. We work together on selecting music to study so that each student is always intrinsically motivated to practice music s/he loves. Some students work on their own original songs in lessons. Lessons are tailored individually based on the context (for example, one student is a drummer, and we work on maintaining good singing posture and diaphragm support while drumming!).
