About this pro

My name is Lindsay Genadek and I am the owner and instructor at Denver String Academy. I have been teaching private lessons on violin and viola for 16 years and have taught orchestra at the public schools for 9 years. I am a state certified, highly-qualified music teacher and can easily differentiate all lessons to meet the needs of each student. My students have been accepted into All-State Orchestra, honor orchestras across the state, youth orchestras as well as college. My students enjoy and appreciate music. The word "fun" is always something that describes lessons with me! I have a music performance degree from the University of Northern Colorado and a Music Education degree from Colorado Mesa University. I regularly attend workshops to enhance my teaching. I also play with multiple orchestras and performing ensembles around the Denver/Boulder area. I offer a free trial lesson to any student wishing to take private lessons with me. This is an important step in finding the correct teacher for your needs and ultimately, your success on your instrument. Please feel free to contact me for more information or to ask any questions you may have!

Music is and always has been my passion. I love working with my students and watching their love of music grow as well. My favorite part about teaching music is seeing the growth and skills develop over time. I love seeing a face light up when they finally got the piece of music right and they are so impressed and happy with themselves.  I believe music is one of the most important things a person can learn because it teaches you passion, dedication and perseverance.

Lindsey is working with my 17-year-old son who is on the spectrum. I was worried about how it would go but she has been very patient and seems to really get him! It has been a great match!

I love working with Linsday! I’m a 24 year old with no musical experience whatsoever but she has made learning enjoyable and taught me so much in a fairly short period! Definitely recommend.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

New students will be given a free trial lesson to determine whether we are all compatible. From that lesson, we will determine how long each lesson should be and set goals to work on during lessons. Lessons are differentiated to meet the needs of each student.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelor's in music performance on the viola, a bachelor's in music education and a master's in education administration.
I have taught private lessons to all ages for 16 years and public school orchestra for 9 years.
I play in multiple orchestras throughout the Denver/Boulder area. I have also played with rock groups, bluegrass bands and other various musical genres.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

30 minute lessons - $35

45 minute lessons - $45

1 hour lessons - $60

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students from the ages of 3 all the way to 60! There's never a perfect age to learn- it's whenever you are ready!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Always find a teacher you are comfortable with and who you can trust will give you the education you are wanting.
