About this pro

My name is Lindsay Genadek and I am the owner and instructor at Denver String Academy. I have been teaching private lessons on violin and viola for 15 years and have taught orchestra at the public schools for 9 years. I am a state certified, highly-qualified music teacher and can easily differentiate all lessons to meet the needs of each student. My students have been accepted into All-State Orchestra, honor orchestras across the state, youth orchestras as well as college. My students enjoy and appreciate music. The word "fun" is always something that describes lessons with me! I have a music performance degree from the University of Northern Colorado and a Music Education degree from Colorado Mesa University. I regularly attend workshops to enhance my teaching. I also play with multiple orchestras and performing ensembles around the Denver/Boulder area. I offer a free trial lesson to any student wishing to take private lessons with me. This is an important step in finding the correct teacher for your needs and ultimately, your success on your instrument. Please feel free to contact me for more information or to ask any questions you may have!

Music is and always has been my passion. I love working with my students and watching their love of music grow as well. My favorite part about teaching music is seeing the growth and skills develop over time. I love seeing a face light up when they finally got the piece of music right and they are so impressed and happy with themselves.  I believe music is one of the most important things a person can learn because it teaches you passion, dedication and perseverance.

Lindsay is amazing! Not everyone who is a talented musician makes a good teacher. Lindsay is gifted in both talent and teaching. She taught my daughter with technical instruction that was also fun and creative. We still sing some of the catchy songs Lindsay made up to accompany different violin rhythms my daughter was learning. Lindsay is nurturing and professional. She’s great with kids and an expert musician. Even when we moved away from Lindsay to a different town, she made an effort to spend time with my daughter and fit in a visit whenever our paths crossed. She cared and valued the relationship. I am certain my daughter’s love for music is in large part due to the contribution Lindsay made as a teacher.

Lindsay has been a wonderful teacher who takes care to facilitate quality learning with her students. The times when I struggled with a particular aspect of the music, she was gracious in helping equip me with the skills and tools to learn at my own pace. I would be both proud and grateful to have Lindsay as my violin teacher!

Lindsay taught me from 5th grade into high school. Throughout that time, I played in my school’s orchestra and received private lessons from her. Her teaching methods improved my skills greatly and I am proud of how far I’ve come as a musician thanks too her.

I have worked with Lindsey for 4 wonderful years. She taught me extremely well and I was able to play my cello with confidence challenging myself throughout the years. I highly recommend!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

New students will be given a free trial lesson to determine whether we are all compatible. From that lesson, we will determine how long each lesson should be and set goals to work on during lessons.
