About

As a teacher unaffiliated with a music teaching company, I tailor each lesson to my student's needs, creating a holistic learning experience for each of my students. I've worked for many teaching companies in the past but with policies that prohibit a lasting relationships between teachers and students, I felt compelled to start my own business so that I could develop strong relationships with my students. For me, my students - past and present - are like family!

Most music instructors follow a two step process before reaching a performance: technique and comprehension. In our lessons together, we'll follow a four pillar learning model that utilizes both the right and left sides of the brain: technique, comprehension, interpretation, and expression. Together, we'll identify your goals through a holistic approach so that you can feel confident, elevated, and creative as a musical artist!

I've been teaching voice lessons for almost 10 years and have had over 400 students.

I have my Master's Degree in Vocal Arts from USC with a dual emphasis in Songwriting and Classical/Opera. I also have my Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance from Cal State Fullerton. I've trained classically through 4 well established opera programs, performed as a classical soloist with the Pacific Symphony and Long Beach Symphony Orchestra, toured with Andrea Bocelli at the Hollywood Bowl and Honda Center, recorded for Warner Brothers' soundtracks at Capitol Studios, and performed as a professional jazz vocalist with Grammy Award winner Bill Cunliffe's jazz quintet.

I've also played piano for the last 20 years and have taught piano lessons for over 5 years. I currently do not accept piano students unless they are also a vocal student.

Standard pricing differs depending on the length of lesson. All lessons are paid for electronically or by check on the first of the month. Each payment includes 4 lessons per month with options to reschedule a lesson of canceled more than 24 hours prior to our scheduled time.

My parents are both musicians and music educators so I had no choice in the matter! I began teaching through a music teaching company almost ten years ago. A wonderful starting point, this experience led me to open my own private studio so that I could have lasting and deeper relationships with my students. I started my studio practice through teaching masterclasses, group workshops, and clinics at the high school and college level. I now offer services in 1-1 lessons, group coaching, and speaking + workshop engagements.

I've worked with all age groups, however, I specialize in teaching voice lessons to ages 16+. My primary focus is for adults with beginning to moderate musical experience, followed by intermediate to advanced high school vocal students. Having both a classical and contemporary background, repertoire is based off of each student's needs AND desires!

Over the last 3 years, I've served as the Co-CEO of The Marketed Musician - an online platform for trained musicians to elevate their careers with marketing strategies and the podcast host of The Musician on Purpose podcast.

While I do not currently have these projects anymore, I am happy that they have provided new opportunities in the realm of teaching voice lessons online.

I will be launching a Voice Empowerment online program for self paced vocal study in the summer of 2018.
